DJI introduces Matrice 5T industrial drone

DJI has released the Matrice 5T, a new drone model targeting industrial applications including emergency response, power grid inspection, and surveying. The unit is priced at 57,488 yuan in the Chinese market.

This marks the company's first light-weight industrial drone to come equipped with native LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, and omnidirectional visual sensing systems as standard. These components are designed to complement one another, enabling detection of thin obstacles like power lines at night and maintaining distance perception in adverse weather conditions like fog or rain.

Designed for field utility, the Matrice 5T offers a 59-minute flight time and carries an IP55 ingress protection rating. It supports the integration of third-party AI models, allowing users to customize target identification algorithms. Connectivity is enhanced through a dual-4G transmission system, which allows operators to use additional units as aerial relays to extend signal range in obstructed terrain.
