DLRG distributes free child locator armbands on beaches
The German Life Saving Association (DLRG) is again distributing free armbands to help parents locate lost children on beaches along the North and Baltic Seas.

The German Life Saving Association (DLRG) and the St. Peter-Ording Tourism Agency are continuing their collaboration by offering free child locator armbands to families this season. These silicone armbands are designed to assist parents in finding their children on busy beaches where youngsters can easily lose sight of their families.
Families can register the ID number of the armband, along with a mobile phone number, via the DLRG's online portal. If a lifeguard encounters a child without supervision, they can quickly contact the parents using the provided number. This system helps to expedite search efforts and reduce parental anxiety.
Nils Stauch, Head of the Beach, Parking, and Digitalization department at the St. Peter-Ording Tourism Agency, highlighted the armband's utility. "The DLRG locator armband can be used at many bathing spots on the North and Baltic Seas, thus it can be used multiple times," he stated. The armband assists local rescue services in speeding up search operations and enhances overall safety in beach areas.
The initiative is part of the "Strand aufs Herz" campaign. The armbands are available at the tourist information center, at beach access points, and from beach chair rental services. Through this effort, the DLRG aims to improve child safety on the beaches of Schleswig-Holstein, particularly during peak seasons.
