DNB Bank initiates share buy-back program worth up to NOK 3.79 billion
DNB Bank acquired 700,000 shares during the first week of its new program, which aims to repurchase up to 10.8 million shares by December.

Norwegian lender DNB Bank has launched a share buy-back program targeting up to 10.8 million shares. In the first week of operations, the bank purchased 700,000 shares for NOK 218.6 million, reflecting an average price of approximately NOK 312.25 per share.
The total value of the repurchase initiative is capped at NOK 3.79 billion. The strategy involves buying up to 7.1 million shares on open trading venues through December 18, 2026, with the remainder to be redeemed from the Norwegian government. This redemption is designed to maintain the state’s current 34 percent ownership stake in the bank.
Shares acquired through the market are intended for cancellation, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. The program follows standard capital management practices employed by major financial institutions to optimize equity structure.
