DNS:NET rolls out fiber connections in Brandenburg in November 2023

German network operator DNS:NET has begun activating new fiber optic internet connections across several areas in the state of Brandenburg in November 2023. This expansion is part of the company's self-financed fiber network construction program, aiming to enhance digital infrastructure in both urban and rural regions.

In the latest phase of activations, DNS:NET is connecting thousands of households to its fiber network. In November, over 2,000 households in the municipality of Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf and nearly 1,000 households in Dallgow-Döberitz will receive their new connections. The company also plans to connect further households in the districts of Barnim, Potsdam-Mittelmark, and Havelland before the end of the year.

Earlier in 2023, DNS:NET had already brought hundreds of homes online in locations including Atlandsburg (Bruchmühle), multiple villages and districts within the municipality of Mellensee, Wustermark (Wustermark center, Elstal, and Hoppenrade), and Schönewalde-Glien. Notably, nearly 1,500 activations were recently completed in the Barnim district.

These new connections typically utilize FTTH (Fiber to the Home) technology, offering download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbit/s and upload speeds of 1 Gbit/s. DNS:NET focuses on delivering high-quality, high-speed internet access to areas that have historically lacked such services, thereby fostering regional digital development.
