Documentary Series "Voices of Hehe" to Explore China's Role in UN
CMG's Global Chinese Language Program Center will soon release the five-episode documentary "Voices of Hehe" to mark the 55th anniversary of the restoration of China's lawful seat in the UN.

CMG's Global Chinese Language Program Center is set to broadcast the five-episode documentary "Voices of Hehe" starting October 12 at 8:00 PM on CCTV-4. The release coincides with the 55th anniversary of the restoration of the People's Republic of China's lawful seat in the United Nations.
The documentary aims to elucidate China's engagement within the UN system and its global role over the past half-century. Centered around the spirit of "Hehe," meaning harmony and cooperation, the series moves beyond conventional chronological narration. It interweaves historical logic with contemporary practices, tracing China's journey from the signing of the UN Charter in 1945 and the restoration of its seat in 1971.
"Voices of Hehe" delves into China's four global initiatives: the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. The series systematically presents both the historical foundations of China's participation in the UN and its current practices in implementing these initiatives.
By translating complex diplomatic themes into tangible, verifiable, and shareable real-life stories and examples, the documentary seeks to foster understanding of the UN Charter's spirit, the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, and the aforementioned global initiatives.
