China's "Fire Sky" (防火天狼) domestic fire robot has participated in its first practical drill, according to CCTV. The robot is designed to operate in high-temperature and hazardous environments that are difficult or impossible for humans to access.

The unit, commercially known as "Tianlang Q25" and produced by Wuba Intelligent, can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius for two minutes while wearing specialized heat-resistant protective gear. This enables its tasks such as locating fire sources, detecting harmful gases, and searching for trapped individuals.

In the recent drill, "Fire Sky" performed a reconnaissance mission in a simulated tunnel fire environment. Tunnel fires are particularly dangerous due to confined spaces, low visibility, extreme temperatures, and toxic gases, making them challenging rescue scenarios that pose significant risks to human life.

"Fire Sky" acts as an "advance scout" or "reconnaissance unit" in these situations, capable of replacing firefighters in high-risk areas. It can collect and transmit real-time information about the scene, assisting rescue authorities in making timely and informed decisions for planning and executing rescue operations.
