Major Chinese airlines, including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, have announced a reduction in fuel surcharges for domestic routes. These adjustments will apply to tickets sold from July 5, 2026, onwards.

The revised pricing structure will see a decrease in costs for travelers. For routes up to 800 kilometers, the fuel surcharge will be reduced by 30 yuan to 50 yuan per segment. For routes exceeding 800 kilometers, the surcharge will decrease by 50 yuan to 100 yuan per segment.

Infants will continue to be exempt from the fuel surcharge. Children, disabled military personnel, and police officers with work-related injuries will be charged half the applicable rate.

Passengers who purchased tickets before July 5, 2026, and make changes on or after this date will not be eligible for a refund of any previously collected fuel surcharges.
