Ann Arbor, Michigan – Domino's Pizza and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) have once again joined forces to deliver important fire safety messages to households across the United States. This marks the 19th year of collaboration between the two organizations, coinciding with Fire Prevention Week, observed from October 4-10.

During the campaign, customers ordering from participating Domino's stores may receive a surprise with their pizza delivery: if smoke alarms in the home are functioning, the pizza will be delivered free of charge. Should the smoke alarms not be working, firefighters arriving at the scene will replace batteries or install new, functional alarms.

This year's campaign also highlights the theme, "Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower." Participating Domino's locations will distribute flyers providing tips for safely charging lithium-ion batteries and reducing the risk of fires. This theme addresses the growing prevalence of lithium-ion batteries in devices like smartphones and laptops.

According to the NFPA, the majority of U.S. home fire deaths occur in residences. "Working smoke alarms are critical as they provide people with the time needed to escape safely, whatever the cause of the fire," said Lorraine Carli, NFPA's vice president of outreach and advocacy. The organization emphasizes that smoke alarms should be installed on every level of the home, in every bedroom, and outside each sleeping area, tested monthly, and replaced every 10 years or sooner if they are not functioning properly.
