DoorBird Releases Converter for Upgrading Older Door Intercom Systems
DoorBird has introduced the 2-Wire Ethernet PoE+ Converter (A1072), allowing older intercom systems to be upgraded to IP technology without new cabling or construction.

DoorBird, a manufacturer of IP video door stations, has released its 2-Wire Ethernet PoE+ Converter (A1072). The device enables users to modernize existing, older door intercom systems without the need for extensive construction work or new cable installations.
The converter uses two existing copper wires to supply both power and data to a modern DoorBird IP video door station. This allows for a transition from analog or bus-based systems to IP technology by utilizing the existing wiring infrastructure. The system supports cable runs of up to 80 meters.
This solution is particularly targeted at older buildings, renovations, and properties where installing new cabling would be impractical or costly. It is applicable to multi-family buildings, private homes, and commercial properties.
"Our new converter offers a straightforward and cost-effective way for customers to upgrade their door communication systems. They can leverage the benefits of IP technology while preserving their existing infrastructure," stated a representative for DoorBird.
