The text message ordering functionality is an extension of DoorDash's recent integration of an AI chatbot, Ask DoorDash. This new system will allow customers to place orders, request recommendations, or even reorder past favorites simply by sending a text message, bypassing the need to open the DoorDash app.
Details regarding the timeline for the drone delivery expansion were not immediately available, but the retail returns feature is scheduled for a nationwide rollout in November. This service allows customers to return eligible retail items via DoorDash.
