Doppel Acquires PropRise to Bolster Engineering Capabilities
Cybersecurity firm Doppel has acquired PropRise, bringing the latter's founders into its engineering team to scale its platform for social engineering defense.
Doppel, a provider of social engineering defense (SED) platforms, has announced the acquisition of PropRise, a technology firm backed by Y Combinator. As part of the transaction, PropRise co-founders Jean-Michael Diei and Matthew Krager will join Doppel's engineering organization.
PropRise was established in 2023 to develop AI-driven software for the commercial real estate sector, quickly gaining traction among institutional investors. Rahul Madduluri, co-founder and CTO of Doppel, indicated that the acquisition is intended to leverage the founders' experience in building complex technical products as the company looks to scale its platform capabilities.
Doppel’s platform integrates digital risk protection, human risk management, and email security to disrupt threats associated with social engineering. The acquisition follows a period of expansion for the company, which recently opened operations in Japan and Toronto and now employs more than 300 people.
Backed by venture capital firms such as Bessemer Venture Partners and Andreessen Horowitz, Doppel continues to focus on strengthening its technical infrastructure against evolving cybersecurity threats. The company was recently included in the 2026 Fortune Cyber 60 list.
