dpa and Google launch program to advance journalism collaboration
The new "Creator x News" program connects journalistic creators and media houses to foster collaboration and develop future journalism.

German news agency dpa has launched a new initiative called "Creator x News," supported by Google. The program aims to foster collaboration between journalistic content creators and established media houses. Participants will receive training in AI, tools, and journalistic practices.
The initiative addresses the changing news landscape where many encounter news first through social media and creators. Media houses, in turn, are seeking new ways to reach audiences on digital platforms. "Creator x News" creates a framework for these groups to network, learn, and cooperate.
The program consists of three components: training modules on AI and social media business models, collaborative projects to explore new journalistic formats, and the collection and sharing of experiences and best practices for the industry. Participants will also gain access to dpa's news resources.
The application period for "Creator x News" has now closed. The program's outcomes and learnings will be shared with the industry through publications and a concluding event.
