DryEye Rescue is now the exclusive U.S. distributor for Bausch + Lomb's ScoutPro, a tear osmolarity testing device used in diagnosing dry eye disease.
Boca Raton, Florida – DryEye Rescue announced it has become the exclusive United States distributor for Bausch + Lomb's ScoutPro, a device for testing tear osmolarity. Bausch + Lomb will continue direct sales, while DryEye Rescue will handle U.S. distribution.
The agreement expands the existing collaboration between the two companies, which has previously included over-the-counter products and prescription lines. ScoutPro adds diagnostic tools to this established relationship.
Tear osmolarity is a recognized objective measure for assessing the ocular surface. ScoutPro aids in the diagnosis of dry eye disease, serving both as a tool for pre-operative planning in cataract and refractive surgery and for everyday dry eye care.
The portable device provides results in seconds from a small tear sample. Its test cards are compatible with the first-generation TearLab system, ensuring a seamless workflow for existing users. The test is CLIA waived and billable under CPT code 83861.
