Duke Energy Florida offers bill credits for off-peak EV charging
Duke Energy Florida is encouraging electric vehicle owners to charge their cars during off-peak hours with a program offering bill credits. The initiative has so far provided $1.5 million in credits to participating customers.

Duke Energy Florida is reminding its electric vehicle (EV) driving customers about a program that offers bill credits for charging vehicles during times of lower energy demand. Florida ranks second nationally for EV registrations.
The Off-Peak Charging Credit program, launched in 2022, has collectively provided $1.5 million in bill credits to enrolled customers who adjust their charging habits. Eligible customers using a Level 2 charger can earn a $7.50 monthly credit by charging their EVs between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on weekdays, and anytime on weekends and holidays.
Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida state president, stated that the program provides a simple way for EV drivers to reduce their monthly electricity bills. She encouraged all eligible customers to sign up.
The program is available to all Duke Energy Florida residential customers, with a limit of two EVs per account. Details and enrollment information are available on the company's website.
