Duolingo Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Alleged Misleading Statements
Schall, Brown & Schwartz has initiated a class action lawsuit against Duolingo, alleging the company misled investors regarding user growth and content quality.
Law firm Schall, Brown & Schwartz has filed a class action lawsuit against Duolingo, Inc., accusing the language-learning platform of violating the Securities Exchange Act. The complaint alleges that the company issued false and misleading statements to shareholders between May 2, 2025, and February 26, 2026.
The lawsuit claims Duolingo failed to disclose that increasing ad volume and relying on low-quality AI-generated content were negatively impacting daily active user growth rates. Plaintiffs argue that this lack of transparency artificially inflated the company's market perception until the true impact on user metrics was revealed.
Investors who purchased DUOL shares during the specified class period are encouraged to apply for lead plaintiff status before the December 7, 2026, deadline. The court has not yet certified the class, leaving the litigation in its preliminary stages.
