Duolingo Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Disclosure Practices

Law firm Robbins LLP has initiated a class action lawsuit on behalf of investors who purchased Duolingo, Inc. Class A common stock between May 2, 2025, and February 26, 2026. The complaint alleges that the company misrepresented its growth sustainability and the impact of its monetization strategies during this period.

The lawsuit asserts that Duolingo management failed to disclose the negative consequences of aggressively increasing ad density and relying on lower-quality AI-generated content. According to the filing, these changes introduced significant friction into the user experience, contradicting public statements regarding healthy growth in daily active users (DAUs) and subscription bookings.

Duolingo’s stock price experienced substantial volatility following a series of disclosures throughout the class period. The company reported decelerating DAU growth in late 2025, culminating in a February 2026 acknowledgment by executives that their monetization push had intentionally driven users away from the app. This led to downward revisions in future revenue and profitability projections.

Interested shareholders have until December 7, 2026, to file a motion for appointment as lead plaintiff.
