Duolingo sued over alleged misrepresentations to investors

Investors who purchased Duolingo, Inc. (NasdaqGS: DUOL) Class A common stock between May 2, 2025, and February 26, 2026, are subject to a class action securities lawsuit. The case is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The lawsuit claims that Duolingo and its representatives made materially false or misleading statements and failed to disclose adverse information about the company's business and prospects. According to the complaint, the company deliberately increased friction in the user experience through higher ad volume and subscription upsells, while declining product quality. This approach allegedly drove users away and slowed the growth of daily active users (DAU).

Plaintiffs allege that internal A/B testing indicated that these user experience changes were harming DAU growth. The suit further contends that Duolingo's rapidly produced AI content degraded its product offerings, negatively impacted user trends, and jeopardized the sustainability of its financial performance.

Investors who suffered losses during the specified class period have until December 7, 2026, to petition the court to be appointed lead plaintiff. The law firm Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC is representing the investors.
