Dutch workshop builds electric Land Rover Defender named Panterra
Dutch modifier The Landrovers has unveiled the Panterra, an electric conversion of the classic Land Rover Defender, after seven years of development. The vehicle offers a 604 km range and four-wheel-drive.
Dutch automotive specialist The Landrovers has completed the Panterra, an electric conversion based on the classic Land Rover Defender. The project, which took seven years to develop, aims to blend retro aesthetics with practical usability for daily driving and longer journeys.
The Panterra is equipped with a 200 kWh battery, providing a range of 604 kilometers under WLTP testing. It features four hub motors, one at each wheel, delivering a combined output of 447 kW and enabling real-time torque vectoring for enhanced off-road capability and on-road handling. The 2.9-tonne vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
The vehicle boasts a redesigned chassis with independent suspension on both front and rear axles, along with a thoroughly re-engineered subframe for tighter and more stable body control than a standard Defender. Buyers can choose between coil springs or air suspension, and a newly developed electric power steering system further refines the driving dynamics.
The interior has been upgraded with machined aluminum components, premium leather, and refined trim to create a luxurious cabin. The Panterra has a starting price of approximately $570,000 USD.
