Dyson has announced the launch of its new Airwrap Co-anda2x multi-styler and dryer. The device is powered by Dyson's most powerful hair care motor yet, the Hyperdymium™ 2, which spins at up to 150,000 rpm. This new motor generates twice the airflow and air pressure compared to previous models, enabling faster drying and more effective styling.
The Airwrap2x™ offers six styling functions: drying, curling, waving, straightening, smoothing, and adding volume. Dyson states that the device can create various styles without heat damage. New attachments are equipped with Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, allowing them to automatically detect styling needs and adjust temperature and airflow settings accordingly. The device also connects to the MyDyson™ app for personalized styling and settings, including the i.d. curl™ technology for creating uniform curls.
In terms of design, the Airwrap2x™ is more compact and lighter than its predecessors, aiming to improve handling and control during use. The product development emphasizes Dyson's ongoing commitment to technological advancement. The Hyperdymium™ 2 motor utilizes a filament as thin as 90 micrometers, showcasing precision engineering. New attachments, such as the AirSmooth2x™ for straightening and the patented Co-anda2x™ brushes, are designed to enhance styling results and prevent tangles. Intelligent sensors, including thermistors and a pressure sensor, continuously monitor and regulate the device's performance to protect hair.
The company highlighted that the motor's speed is nine times faster than that of a Formula 1 car. The enhanced airflow and pressure, combined with new styling attachments, allow the device to dry hair as quickly as a powerful hairdryer and create longer-lasting curls or smoother styles. Dyson emphasized its focus on protecting hair health through intelligent technology, avoiding compromises on precision and performance.
