Dyson GmbH has issued a clarification regarding its Airwrap™ multi-styler devices, detailing the distinctions between the Airwrap i.d.™ and the newer Airwrap Co-anda2x™ models.

According to the company, both devices are designed to dry and style hair using a single tool. The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x™ introduces several technical advancements over its predecessor. It is equipped with the new Hyperdymium™ 2 motor, delivering 30 percent more power and twice the airflow pressure, resulting in faster drying and styling.

A key difference lies in the smart attachment recognition. The Co-anda2x™ model features attachments with RFID chips that communicate with the device, automatically adjusting temperature and airflow settings for optimal performance with each accessory. Furthermore, the Co-anda2x™ is designed to be more compact and lighter, enhancing ease of use and control.

The comparison also highlights the inclusion of the new Airsmooth2x™ finishing tool in the Co-anda2x™ Straight+Wavy variant, aimed at smoothing dry hair. Both models offer Bluetooth connectivity to the MyDyson™ app, providing personalized styling routines based on hair type.

Dyson's product lineup includes various Airwrap configurations. The Co-anda2x™ model is priced at €649, while the i.d.™ model is available for €549. The company emphasizes that the devices are engineered to prevent extreme heat damage.
