Dyson launches new hair styling products using Chitosan technology
Dyson is expanding into the beauty sector with the introduction of its Dyson Chitosan™ line, which includes styling creams and serums. The new products are based on a biomaterial derived from oyster mushrooms.

Dyson GmbH has announced its expansion into the beauty sector with the launch of its Dyson Chitosan™ line, featuring styling creams and serums. This marks the company's first significant entry into the hair styling product market, utilizing a biomaterial called Chitosan, derived from oyster mushrooms.
The new products are designed to provide flexible hold and shine to hair without creating a sticky or stiff effect. According to Dyson, the Chitosan technology is the result of over a decade of research and development in hair health and investment in ingredient research. Founder James Dyson stated that the insights gained have been used to address common issues consumers face with conventional styling products.
Dyson Chitosan™ products leverage Dyson Triodetic™ technology, which the company describes as delivering performance more advanced than the rigid bonds formed by traditional polymers. Instead, it creates flexible, strand-by-strand bonds, allowing hair to move freely while maintaining its style. The company claims this technology reduces frizz and enhances shine.
The line includes a Pre-Style Cream to prepare hair for styling and provide hold, and a Post-Style Serum to finish the look. Both products are available in four distinct variants, tailored for different hair types and care needs. The products are intended for use on damp hair before styling.
