Dyson provides maintenance guidelines for humidifier units
Dyson GmbH has outlined standardized procedures for the maintenance and cleaning of its humidifier line to ensure operational hygiene and performance.
Regular maintenance of humidifiers is essential to prevent the accumulation of bacteria and mold within water tanks. Dyson GmbH notes that failure to sanitize these devices can lead to poor air quality and potential respiratory issues for users, particularly when mineral deposits from hard water affect the unit's mechanical function.
The manufacturer recommends emptying water tanks every three days and performing a comprehensive descaling process using citric acid on a weekly basis. Dyson’s hardware includes automated deep-cleaning cycles, signaled via on-device displays or the integrated mobile application, to assist users with the maintenance process.
In addition to deep-cleaning the water system, regular maintenance includes rinsing integrated filters under clean water to prevent clogs. Consistent upkeep is required to maintain airflow efficiency and extend the overall lifespan of the hardware components.
