Dyson has announced new audio technology with the launch of its first pure audio Hi-Fi headphones, the Dyson OnTrac™.

The new headphones feature active noise cancellation (ANC), which is claimed to reduce external sounds by up to 40 decibels. The device captures and analyzes ambient noise 384,000 times per second using eight microphones. Dyson states this, combined with high-quality materials and carefully engineered internal geometry, creates an optimal listening environment.

The Dyson OnTrac™ headphones are equipped with 40mm neodymium speaker drivers and an extended audio range from 6 Hz to 21 kHz. This is said to deliver deep bass and clear treble. Component placement, such as the battery housed in the headband, aims to balance weight and enhance comfort for extended listening sessions.

Powering the headphones are two lithium-ion batteries, offering up to 55 hours of use on a single charge, even with ANC engaged. The company states this battery life is sufficient for two weeks of typical use. The headphones are designed for long-term comfort, with customization options including interchangeable end caps and ear cushions.

Dyson OnTrac™ will be available in multiple color combinations starting in August. The company has focused on acoustics and noise control in its products, leveraging over 30 years of experience in aeroacoustics.
