E-J Electric and Augmenta Partner for Five Years to Enhance Electrical Design
Electrical contractor E-J Electric Installation Co. and AI firm Augmenta have formed a five-year strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to automate electrical design and boost productivity on large infrastructure projects.
E-J Electric Installation Co., a national electrical contractor, and Augmenta, a provider of autonomous building design software, have announced a five-year strategic partnership. The agreement will integrate Augmenta's platform into E-J's workflows, with the goal of automating complex electrical design processes and improving efficiency on large-scale infrastructure projects.
The collaboration is intended to address the increasing demand for complex infrastructure solutions within the construction industry. E-J will leverage Augmenta's technology to enhance its design-build capabilities. By transitioning from traditional drafting tools to an autonomous design engine, the firm's teams will be able to simultaneously resolve millions of spatial constraints. This is expected to ensure designs are code-compliant, collision-free, and field-ready.
"We are constantly evaluating new solutions, and Augmenta stood out for both its ability to support complex electrical projects and the team’s deep construction expertise," stated Thomas Kregel, EVP of E-J. "Integrating Augmenta into our workflow will strengthen collaboration with our design partners and keep our teams focused on building the future."
The partnership signifies a notable step in the commercial adoption of artificial intelligence within the electrical trade. Augmenta's AI architecture is designed to tackle high-precision geometry problems specific to the built environment. The platform aims to codify the expertise of experienced professionals and apply it at scale, embedding critical judgment into every design.
Augmenta's platform has received recognition, including EC&M's Product of the Year Award for Software and Apps, highlighting its impact on projects such as hospitals, schools, and data centers.
