Swiss company EAO AG has launched a new rugged outdoor switch, expanding its Series 09 product line. The new switch is designed for demanding environments encountered by heavy-duty and special vehicles, including construction, agricultural, and municipal machinery.
The Series 09 Rugged Outdoor Switch features a 24 mm colored lens securely integrated into a robust, rubberized 39 mm front actuator. This design aims to make the switch easy to identify and operate, even when users are wearing gloves.
Internally, the switch utilizes non-wearing reed contacts, actuated magnetically and suited for low switching currents. EAO AG states this magnetic principle contributes to an exceptionally long operational lifetime. The unit also features an IP67 protection degree, indicating resistance to dust and water ingress.
EAO AG positions the Series 09 switch as a reliable and durable component for vehicle control functions. The company noted that the switch is designed for straightforward installation into existing systems, offering a safe user interface for operation in challenging conditions.
