Olten, Switzerland – EAO AG has been recognized with the Railway Technology Excellence Award 2025 for its innovative seat reservation management system. The awarded system delivers improvements in passenger flow management, energy efficiency, and system adaptability for modern rail operations.
The system addresses the growing complexities of passenger movement in contemporary rail networks. EAO's solution makes seat availability and reservation status immediately visible and understandable through bright, high-luminosity LED indicators. The system integrates with the train's passenger information system, ensuring real-time data is always up to date.
EAO's seat reservation system stands out for its flexibility and adaptability, crucial in a market with diverse rolling stock and evolving service requirements. The solution is built on a standardized platform enabling seamless integration via CAN bus and Ethernet connectivity with existing passenger information systems. Ease of installation and visual consistency with train interiors are also key design considerations.
