Netherlands-based EASE Holdings BV has closed a $9.5 million equity funding round led by U.S. investor AAFC Group Inc. This latest injection brings the company's total equity to $24 million, which will be used to deploy advanced medical hardware—including AI-enhanced imaging systems and surgical robots—across its target African markets.

EASE utilizes an equipment-as-a-service model, allowing hospitals to access high-value assets such as MRI and PET-CT scanners through pay-per-use or managed-service contracts. By converting capital-intensive equipment into operating expenses, the model aims to help providers keep pace with rapid technological shifts without the burden of heavy upfront investment.

Looking toward 2027, the company has set a target of $20 million in new equipment installations within South Africa. To support this growth, the company is actively searching for a managing director to oversee its South African operations.

Frans van Schaik, CEO of AAFC Group, noted that the model directly addresses the financial constraints faced by healthcare providers in emerging markets, who struggle with high borrowing costs for essential, modern diagnostic technology. Beyond its current footprint in South Africa and Ghana, EASE is evaluating potential expansion into India, Morocco, and Malaysia.
