Ebix and intentyx partner to provide governance for AI agents

Ebix has announced a partnership with intentyx to deploy the Synthetic Mind Aware Risk Engine (SMARE), a platform designed to manage and secure AI agents. The tool allows companies, particularly those in the insurance, finance, and healthcare sectors, to track the activities of AI agents and ensure their actions align with established business policies and security boundaries.

As organizations grant AI agents more autonomy to make decisions and access sensitive systems, traditional security measures have become insufficient to prevent unintended behaviors. The SMARE platform aggregates logs from business applications, cloud environments, and identity systems to create a unified view of agent activity. It compares this behavior against pre-defined intent, alerting security teams when an agent deviates from its approved function.

Ebix CEO Gagan Sethi identified agent behavioral security as a developing market category that will become essential as AI integration deepens. The product is currently available for deployment as a SaaS model or within a customer's proprietary cloud infrastructure, allowing organizations to maintain control over their data while implementing a specialized layer of AI oversight.
