ECARX and Arm collaborate on next-generation AI computing platforms
Automotive technology firm ECARX has signed a memorandum of understanding with Arm to develop high-performance AI computing platforms for automotive and cross-industry applications.
ECARX, a China-based automotive technology developer, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Arm to collaborate on high-performance AI computing platforms. The partnership focuses on joint engineering, covering system-level architecture, software optimization, and cybersecurity verification.
The collaboration is designed to scale beyond automotive use cases, extending into broader physical AI applications. By leveraging Arm’s core intellectual property, ECARX aims to enhance its hardware capability to manage complex AI workloads across diverse industrial sectors.
This agreement builds upon an existing relationship between the companies through ECARX subsidiary Siengine. Siengine’s 7nm automotive-grade chip, "Longying No. 1," has already seen production volumes exceeding one million units. The companies are currently developing the "Longying No. 2," a 5nm AI-integrated chip designed for next-generation vehicle architectures.
