The initial public offering (IPO) for Indian edtech startup Klassroom reached a 40% subscription rate on its opening day. As of midday, investors had placed bids for 7.01 lakh shares out of the total 17.58 lakh shares on offer.

Retail investors showed the strongest demand, subscribing 55% of their allocated quota. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) followed with a 47% subscription of their quota, while non-institutional investors (NIIs) had subscribed only 7% of their portion.

Ahead of the public issue, Klassroom secured ₹11.1 crore from six anchor investors. The offering consists of a fresh issue of up to 19.89 lakh shares and an offer for sale of up to 4.66 lakh shares. At the upper price band of ₹151-159, Klassroom aims to raise ₹39 crore in total.

Proceeds from the IPO are designated for technological upgrades, content development, marketing, brand building, and debt repayment. Financially, Klassroom reported a net profit of ₹7.6 crore for FY26, a 162% increase from the previous year's ₹2.9 crore. Operating revenue stood at ₹23 crore, up 128% year-on-year.

The company is tentatively scheduled to make its public market debut on the BSE SME platform on August 7.
