Electronics for Imaging (EFI) and Agfa-Gevaert have signed a definitive agreement to merge Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions (DPS) business into EFI. This transaction will create a jointly held global industrial inkjet company expected to achieve approximately €540 million ($625 million) in pro forma revenue for 2026. An affiliate of Siris will hold a 60% stake in the combined entity, while Agfa will retain 40%, with governance structured for Siris and Agfa to act as equal partners.

The deal builds on a partnership initiated between EFI and Agfa in 2024, bringing together complementary portfolios in print engines, inks, software, and workflow. EFI contributes its Nozomi, VUTEK, and Reggiani platforms, focusing on corrugated packaging, roll-to-roll, and textile printing. Agfa DPS adds expertise in display graphics, décor, and packaging through its Jeti TAURO, Onset PANTHERA, and SpeedSet ORCA platforms.

The combined company is anticipated to serve thousands of customers across more than 100 countries. Synergies are expected through cross-selling opportunities, expanded application and geographic market access, and operational efficiencies from a larger industrial inkjet platform.

Closing of the transaction is targeted for the end of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The merger aims to accelerate the broader adoption of digital printing by consolidating technological leadership, global reach, and application expertise.
