Egis to supervise Timișoara heating network upgrade

Egis in Romania has secured a contract for the supervision and technical assistance of Stage III, Lot 1, of the Timișoara municipality’s district heating system modernization program. The project seeks to improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the city's centralized heat supply infrastructure.

Planned upgrades are expected to reduce network energy losses, optimize consumption, and lower the environmental impact associated with district heating operations. Under the terms of the contract, Egis will oversee the execution of works, monitor adherence to the implementation schedule, and verify that construction activities meet the specified technical and quality requirements.

The company's supervision team will manage the project's progress and provide technical support to the Municipality of Timișoara until the works are completed and formally handed over. The assignment covers the full implementation period, estimated at approximately 33 months, including design, construction, and handover phases.

Following the completion of construction, Egis will provide services during a three-year defects liability period, monitoring the system's performance and addressing any identified issues. The modernization is anticipated to offer residents more dependable district heating services, reduce long-term operating costs, and contribute to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
