EIB provides €15 million loan to PWO Group for Serbia plant

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €15 million loan to German automotive supplier PWO Group to finance machinery for its new manufacturing facility in Čačak, Serbia. The plant represents a total investment of €31 million, with PWO Group contributing €12 million and the Serbian government adding €4 million.

The 16,500-square-metre facility produces advanced lightweight metal components for the automotive industry, including parts for electric vehicles. It also houses a Shared Service Centre supporting PWO's European operations and is equipped with technologies for producing cold-formed metal components.

This investment is expected to create up to 550 jobs by 2033 and enhance Serbia's integration into European automotive value chains. The funding marks PWO Group's first loan from an international financial institution and aims to support technology transfer and job creation in the region.

The EIB stated that the project supports the competitiveness of Europe's automotive sector and contributes to sustainable economic development in Serbia. PWO Group views the Serbian facility as crucial for serving key customers and expanding its production capacity in Eastern Europe.
