Ekart Narrows FY26 Loss to ₹26 Cr Amid Revenue Dip

Instakart Services, the Flipkart-owned logistics company operating as Ekart, reported a substantial reduction in its financial losses for the fiscal year ending March 2026. The company's loss narrowed by 98.3% to ₹26 crore, a significant improvement from the ₹1,508 crore loss recorded in the previous fiscal year (FY25).

Despite the improved profitability, Ekart's revenue from customer contracts saw a slight decrease of 4.2%, falling to ₹13,194 crore in FY26 from ₹13,779 crore in FY25. Flipkart remained the primary contributor, accounting for ₹9,112 crore, or approximately 69% of Ekart's total operating revenue. Revenue from logistics, transportation, and shipping, which formed about 50% of the total, dropped by 39.5% year-on-year.

Total expenses for Instakart Services also decreased by 13% to ₹13,638 crore in FY26, down from ₹15,673 crore in FY25. Key cost reductions were observed in freight, handling, and servicing expenses, which fell by 17.1% to ₹9,191 crore. Employee benefit expenses were also reduced by 24.9% to ₹958 crore. However, depreciation and amortization expenses saw a 5% increase, reaching ₹1,456 crore.

Ekart, initially an in-house logistics arm of Flipkart founded in 2009, has expanded its services to support other businesses. The company operates an extensive network, including over 7,000 trucks, 70 fulfillment centers, and 3,500 delivery hubs. In July, Ekart opened its logistics network to external clients, including MSMEs and D2C brands. The company had also planned to expand its franchise outlet network to over 1,000 locations by the end of 2026.
