Elastic Recognizes Community Projects Advancing Social Good

Elastic, the company behind Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack, has recognized four organizations with its 2018 Elastic Cause Awards. The awards were presented during the opening keynote of the Elastic{ON} 2018 conference in San Francisco.

This marks the second year for the Cause Awards, which celebrate the application of Elastic's technology to address significant global challenges. The 2018 honorees include Dimagi, using a mobile and web application to track tuberculosis patients in India; Libraries Without Borders, which provides digital libraries to vulnerable communities; Refugee Datathon Munich, offering data analysis services to aid refugees; and Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children, focused on child protection online.

These projects were selected based on their impact, altruism, and reach. Elastic stated that the awards are part of its growing philanthropic mission to support nonprofits using the Elastic Stack. "I’m inspired by the life-changing initiatives we’ve learned about through this year’s Elastic Cause Awards, and humbled by the small part we play in making it possible," said Elastic Founder and CEO Shay Banon.

The awarded project teams received complimentary conference tickets and hotel stays for two members each and were featured at various events during Elastic{ON} 2018. Elastic indicated plans to continue expanding its philanthropic efforts to benefit more nonprofits utilizing its technology.
