Bandai Namco has announced the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree for the Nintendo Switch 2 console on August 28. A newly released trailer showcases the game's content, which encompasses the original Elden Ring and its substantial expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.
The edition introduces new starting classes, "Knight of the Eydis" and "Heavy Knight," alongside four new armor sets and three cosmetic customization options for the Spirit Steed, Torrent. The arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 marks the game's availability across all major gaming platforms.
Elden Ring originally launched in February 2022, with cumulative sales exceeding 30 million units worldwide. The Switch 2 version experienced a delay from its initial 2025 projection due to performance concerns, but has since undergone optimization.
In addition to the console release, the new content included in the Switch 2 version will also be available as the "Shadow of the Erdtree" DLC for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on the same date. The game requires 48.8GB of storage space and supports simplified and traditional Chinese, among other languages.
