Elden Ring to be Released on Nintendo Switch 2 Later This Year
FromSoftware is bringing its hit game Elden Ring and its expansion to the Nintendo Switch 2. The 'Tarnished Edition' will launch later this year.
FromSoftware plans to release a "Tarnished Edition" of its hit game Elden Ring, along with its "Shadow of the Erdtree" expansion, for the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. This port will offer Switch 2 players the opportunity to experience FromSoftware's 2022 success for the first time on the new platform.
The version, titled "Tarnished Edition," will be largely identical to the original 2022 release. However, the platform shift may provide a compelling new way to explore the game's expansive Lands Between.
Elden Ring differentiated itself from previous FromSoftware titles with its open-world design and deep lore. The game achieved significant player adoption and critical acclaim for its challenging gameplay and rich world.
Additionally, FromSoftware is developing a new multiplayer game, The Duskbloods, set for release on the Switch 2 this year. The Duskbloods represents a departure for the studio, focusing on a competitive multiplayer experience within a gothic setting.
