Electra, in collaboration with the City of Helsinki and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to investigate the potential of Electra's Ultra Short aircraft. The agreement aims to study the creation of faster, quieter, and more direct flight connections across the Gulf of Finland.
The study will focus on the Helsinki-Tallinn route, which currently serves approximately 7.5 million passengers annually. The initiative seeks to assess how the novel aircraft technology could improve transportation links between the two capitals.
The parties intend to evaluate the technology's suitability, along with its economic and environmental implications. This cooperation could foster new opportunities for regional tourism and business, while potentially reducing travel times and noise pollution.
