Electric Power Group Acquires Grid Protection Alliance
Electric Power Group (EPG) has acquired Grid Protection Alliance (GPA). The acquisition combines synchrophasor data management and power quality solutions to enhance grid reliability.
Pasadena, Calif. – October 1, 2026 – Electric Power Group, LLC (EPG), a provider of synchrophasor-based grid monitoring and analytics solutions, has announced the acquisition of Grid Protection Alliance, Inc. (GPA). GPA is a developer of synchrophasor data management and power quality monitoring solutions. GPA will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of EPG.
The acquisition aims to expand advanced applications, data management, and power quality solutions for grid reliability and stability, leveraging synchrophasor technology.

GPA's technologies are widely used for collecting, managing, and applying synchrophasor and other high-speed time-series data. EPG provides real-time grid monitoring, visualization, analytics, and wide-area situational awareness for utilities and grid operators in the United States and internationally. The acquisition offers continuity for GPA's existing customers and projects while expanding the resources and solutions available to them.
The combined entity seeks to address the evolving needs of the power grid, particularly in managing integrated renewable energy sources, large data center loads, and other complex factors, with the goal of preventing blackouts.
