The all-new electric smart #2 two-seater has made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show, signaling the return of the iconic model for a new electric era. The debut in Paris will be followed by launches in Europe and China.
Styled by Mercedes-Benz's global design team, the vehicle aims to translate smart's iconic two-seater character into a contemporary form. The design preserves the signature silhouette with short overhangs and wheels-at-the-corners stance, while the interior features bench-style seating and an S-shaped cockpit to maximize space.
Underpinning the smart #2 is the newly developed Electric Compact Architecture (ECA) platform, engineered for smart's ultra-compact electric vehicles. It is powered by a rear-mounted 60 kW electric motor delivering 130 Nm of torque. The 35.8 kWh LFP battery for European markets targets a combined WLTP range of 290 km. The vehicle supports 65 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in 20 minutes.
A limited edition, the smart #2 Couture Edition, with 999 units for Europe and 999 for China, was also unveiled. Early ordering for the smart #2 will begin soon in Europe and China, offered in various trim lines.
