Electric vehicle charging on China's national highways saw a significant surge during the initial two days of the National Day holiday period. Between October 1st and October 2nd, a total of over 50.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were consumed for charging, marking a 51.34% increase year-on-year.

The total number of charging sessions reached 2.06 million. Notably, charging volume on October 1st was 3.24 times higher than on typical days. Charging demand remained elevated on October 2nd, with volumes 2.55 times the usual.

According to forecasts from the Ministry of Transport, 48 service areas along the highways are expected to experience particularly busy charging conditions on October 3rd. The majority of these congested areas are concentrated in Shanxi, Hebei, and Shandong provinces.

Travelers are advised to use the "e lu chang tong" WeChat mini-program to check the operational status of charging facilities and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid potential delays.
