Electric Vehicle Purchasing Criteria Shift from Range to Peace of Mind

The European automotive market is seeing a shift in how consumers evaluate electric vehicles (EVs). Historically, factors like battery range, charging speed, and performance dominated purchasing decisions. Today, buyers are considering a broader value proposition, asking about the long-term ownership experience beyond the initial purchase.

This evolving consumer expectation is influencing the strategies of emerging automakers like VinFast, which is expanding in Europe. The company has introduced its VF 6 and VF 8 electric SUV models and is also developing electric bus solutions. VinFast is emphasizing post-purchase support and long-term reliability as key differentiators.

VinFast offers a seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the VF 6 and a ten-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty for the VF 8. These extended guarantees aim to assure customers of the vehicles' durability and provide peace of mind, which is crucial for those transitioning to electric mobility.

Beyond warranties, VinFast is building an ecosystem to simplify EV ownership. Partnerships with European service providers like Norauto and charging network operator Plugsurfing ensure customers have access to extensive maintenance infrastructure and convenient charging solutions across multiple markets. This approach seeks to provide a seamless and reliable ownership experience throughout Europe.
