Electronic Arts releases 25 classic titles on Steam
Electronic Arts is bringing 25 legacy PC games to the Steam platform, featuring updated versions of Road Rash and the Wing Commander series.

Electronic Arts (EA) has launched 25 classic PC games on the Steam distribution platform. The release includes updated anniversary editions of the motorcycle racing title Road Rash and six installments of the Wing Commander franchise. These versions are designed to improve compatibility and performance on modern computer systems.
The development of these updated titles followed the discovery of an extensive internal media archive. EA reported recovering thousands of assets from physical formats, including Betacam and VHS tapes. The digitization process allowed the company to restore master full-motion video sequences and integrate them into the updated game builds.
EA states that the core goal of the project was to preserve the original visual style and creative intent of the games while updating them for contemporary hardware and control schemes. The release signals a continued effort by the publisher to leverage its back catalog for modern digital marketplaces.
