Electronic Batch Record Integration Supports Pharma's Paperless Manufacturing Trend
Electronic batch records (EBR) integrated with LIMS and MES are supporting the pharmaceutical industry's shift towards paperless manufacturing.

Roots Analysis has released a report detailing the integration of electronic batch records (EBR) with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in the pharmaceutical sector. The report highlights the role of EBR systems in supporting the industry's move towards paperless manufacturing.
Traditional paper-based batch records are prone to errors and create compliance challenges. Electronic systems offer a solution by digitizing process tracking and documentation, thereby enhancing transparency and reducing manufacturing costs.
The research identified several global players offering EBR integration with LIMS and MES. InstantGMP, a US-based company, provides various GMP software solutions and integrates its EBR capabilities with other systems. In January 2025, the company partnered with Corsair Pharma to optimize quality management systems.
Sapio Sciences is another notable vendor, offering AI-driven laboratory informatics platforms, including EBR solutions. Their Lab Informatics (Release 24.12) platform, launched in January 2025, aims to streamline laboratory operations. Both companies are actively supporting the pharmaceutical industry's transition to digital and paperless manufacturing processes.
