Elevation Capital Launches $500 Million Fund for AI-Focused Indian Startups

Venture capital firm Elevation Capital has launched Fund IX, a new $500 million vehicle aimed at backing Indian startups. The fund will primarily focus on seed and Series A companies developing AI-first products, aligning with what the firm describes as an ongoing AI platform shift.

Elevation Capital stated that it expects artificial intelligence to drive the creation of a new generation of technology startups across various sectors. While continuing to invest across its existing verticals like consumer tech, fintech, and healthcare, the firm will notably increase its focus on AI-led opportunities.

India is identified as a major market for AI adoption, supported by its expanding digital economy and widespread use of technology in areas such as payments and e-commerce. This strategic focus comes amid a surge in investor interest in AI startups, with funding for Indian AI companies rising significantly.

Launched less than a year after a $400 million late-stage fund, Fund IX expands Elevation Capital's ability to support startups from their inception through pre-IPO stages. The firm, founded in 2001, has a history of investing in early and growth-stage technology companies in India.
