E.l.f. Beauty Leverages TikTok Live for Sales Growth
Cosmetics company E.l.f. Beauty has significantly boosted sales by utilizing TikTok Live streams, blending entertainment with direct commerce.

Cosmetics and skincare company E.l.f. Beauty has reported significant sales growth driven by its strategic use of TikTok Live streams. The brand's recent launch of its haircare line in June utilized a four-hour livestream via TikTok Shop, resulting in the brand's most successful day-one category launch in history.
TikTok Shop, launched three years ago, has become a major player in e-commerce. U.S. consumers spent $15.8 billion on the platform in 2025, and it has captured a notable share of the U.S. online retail market. Live shopping events on TikTok, which mimic QVC's model, are proving increasingly effective for sales.
E.l.f. was an early adopter of TikTok, joining in 2019, and was among the first to sell products on the platform. With 3 million followers, the brand now considers TikTok Live a cornerstone of its retail strategy, hosting approximately 15 livestreams monthly, each lasting between two and six hours.
Kelly Shah-McDonnell, E.l.f.'s VP of global connected commerce, stated that the brand's TikTok sales doubled year-over-year in the first half of 2026. She described the livestreams as an "edutainment" engine that educates viewers, facilitates real-time sales, and fosters community engagement.
Success on the platform requires careful execution. E.l.f. partners exclusively with human influencers, provides them with comprehensive product training, and compensates them with a flat fee plus commission. The company meticulously plans product assortments, giveaways, and promotions for each livestream and maintains constant communication with hosts to manage the event and address any issues.
