Elkem, a producer of advanced silicon materials, reported a decrease in its second-quarter 2026 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to NOK 523 million, compared to NOK 645 million in the corresponding period last year.

The company attributed the decline primarily to lower sales prices for silicon. Elkem stated that its ongoing transformation initiatives are gaining momentum.

Organizational streamlining efforts have concluded, with cost reduction measures on track and ahead of schedule. Concurrently, the company has successfully implemented measures to strengthen its balance sheet.

During the first quarter, Elkem raised NOK 1.8 billion in new equity and refinanced its main bank facilities. These actions are aimed at deleveraging the company's financial structure and improving its financial position.
