Elon Musk Reportedly Considering Stake in Paramount, CNN, and CBS
Paramount Global is reportedly exploring bringing Elon Musk into an investor syndicate for a potential merger. This involvement could influence news coverage from CNN and CBS.

Paramount Global is reportedly considering an investment from billionaire Elon Musk as part of a potential merger with Warner Bros. Discovery, according to media reports.
The company is seeking new cash flow and is contemplating inviting Musk to join an equity investor syndicate to finance the deal. If the transaction proceeds, the CEO of Tesla would acquire a stake in both CNN and CBS.
Paramount CEO David Ellison has reportedly identified Musk as a candidate for this investor group. Ellison's father, Larry Ellison, has a long-standing relationship with Musk and has reportedly personally guaranteed over $40 billion in equity financing for the acquisition. Larry Ellison has previously invested in Musk's X platform (formerly Twitter) and in Tesla.
Musk's potential involvement has raised concerns regarding media independence. Nik Usher, an associate professor of communication at the University of San Diego, suggests that the primary risk is not direct control but rather Musk's potential to "suppress the type of content being produced and set priorities that predetermine a type of entertainment or a type of news coverage."
