Grokipedia launched in October 2025 with an initial 885,000 articles under version 0.1. It later expanded to over six million articles with version 0.2 released in November 2025. However, the project's "Recent changes to…" section on its live page currently displays a message indicating a lack of recent edits.
Musk had initially promoted Grokipedia as a "massive improvement" over Wikipedia. The prolonged lack of updates suggests a significant slowdown or cessation of development, casting doubt on the project's future viability and its original ambitions.
