Emirates Flight Catering Recognized for Food Waste Management Initiative

Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) was honored as the winner of the Best Food Waste Initiative of the Year at the 2026 Middle East Waste & Recycling (MEWAR) Awards. The recognition highlights the company's efforts to integrate automated waste processing technology into its daily catering operations.

To address organic waste production, EKFC utilizes LFC biodigester systems provided by Power Knot LLC. The technology processes food waste on-site, converting it into a liquid byproduct and reducing the environmental and logistical burdens associated with the disposal of large-scale catering refuse.
